This is reblog hell for stuff of every variety, but I make my own content from time to time. My main interests are Puyo Puyo and Pop'n Music, but I may occasionally post about other stuff I like, like Fire Emblem or Arknights! (I can’t tag Puyo or Pop'n with a don’t look tag.)

so like, i’m fascinated by this, right, in all depictions of masked lucina - her awakening portrait, warriors, heroes, the lucina figma, whatever, - you can clearly tell that her hair is cropped short, identical to marth’s style. and yet, when her mask breaks in awakening, her hair just goes flying out, like she had it tucked away somewhere. when i first played awakening i just rationalized it as maybe her long hair was tucked into her collar, or something, but playing the insane amounts of fe:w i am -
there is nowhere for the hair to BE it is clearly just cut short

funny thing is, you can see that the hair is short in the same scene
there are multiple points where you can see the back of her head
also, there’s a really fast and hard cut between lucina’s mask being cut and the close up of her face, revealing her long hair
……almost like they needed to switch out her model, or something……

the only natural conclusion is that lucina owns a marth cosplay wig and it went flying the exact same moment her mask got cut. wig snatched. literally

This scammer messaged me on Facebook. He said he wanted 15 full bodies of Deku from MHA for his “daughter”.
I asked what character this was. He answered Lunitas. Lunitas is the watermark on this Deku art. When asked to ask his daughter for the name of the character, he refused.
This is a really common scam on Instagram and Facebook. People who give you out there requests. Once they receive the art, they do a chargeback on the amount they paid you, so PayPal refunds them and they get free art.
Always invoice your clients. It protects us artists/sellers.
The reason I know this is because I fell for it once when I was new to commissions.
He stopped replying after I sent my last message. A part of me, a small part, wonders if he was legit. But I get these types of messages almost everyday on Instagram from random accounts asking for random things who agree to any price just to scam you.
My bf studied japanese in high school and often says “gambate!” (not sure of spelling) to be like. encouraging. I think it means roughly “let’s get this bread.” However, as someone who took spanish in high school, it always sounds like a command to me. And as near as I can tell, in spanish it would mean “go shrimp yourself.”

I’m definitely not a fluent speaker, so I could be wrong, but here’s how I got there:
In Spanish, some (informal, I think?) commands are formed by dropping the “r” from the end of an infinitive verb. (Every infinitive verb in Spanish ends in r.) For example, “to run” is “correr.” If you want to tell someone to run, it’s “corre.” If you want to tell someone to do something to something/someone, you append a little pronoun thing to the end. From “besar” (to kiss) we get “bésame” (kiss me). From “cocinar” (to cook) we get “cocínalo” (cook it). From “callar” (to silence) we get “cállate” (silence yourself/shut up).
So, “gambate” immediately reminds me of “cállate,” which is a rude command. It would be formed from the verb “gambar” and the second person object “te” for “you/yourself.” But “gambar” isn’t a word in Spanish. However, “gamba” is a word. It means “shrimp.” So while it isn’t technically grammatically correct, in the same way we “verb” nouns in English, the noun “gamba” is being used in the place of a verb here. “Gambate” (or more properly “gámbate” to maintain the correct stress for both the Spanish and Japanese). “Go shrimp yourself.”
Native spanish speaker. You’re quite right about your linguistics here, and spanish speakers love to make up new words by conjugating existing words (at the very least, my parents do)
My confusion stemmed from never having heard the word gamba before. To my knowledge the word for shrimp is camarón
So i looked it up and apparently gamba actually means prawn. So it’s actually go prawn yourself

One of the most life-changing things I ever learned came from Mythbusters, where they tested and proved (with cognitive testing puzzles and reaction time tests) that lying down and resting with the intention to sleep STILL provided significant mental benefits over just staying awake, even if a person couldn’t fall asleep in the amount of time they had.
It helps me to actually sleep to know that just lying down with my eyes closed is still doing me some good, and helps me to not freak out/beat myself up when I stay up later than intended. Any amount of rest is better than no rest!
